The Donohue's of Brooklyn started out in Galway, Ireland with Peter Donohue born in Galway,Ireland in 1783. He was married to the former Mary Nugent who as near as I can ascertain was also born in Galway in 1787. I have not been able to find much information about the two of them other than they had a son Peter J. who was also born in Galway and emigrated to the USA in 1839. Everything that I have found so far starts with Peter J. Donohue who married Bridget McDermott who also came from Ireland and was born in 1835. From this point on the family really mushrooms. |
