The DONALDSON line is interesting to me in that only two lines from Scotland survived. The Australian line and the American line. After 143 years,the lines have be "re-discovered" on 7 February 1998 when made contact with the American line. They were not aware of the Australian line. Personal meetings occurred in August 1999 when descendants of the two male lines met in Cape Cod. I visited Cape Cod in June 2001 and again in 2003.

I have added an outline Descendant Report of the DONALDSON line from 1640 in Scotland to this page.

I also run a DONALDSON one name study, ie persons BORN with the surname DONALDSON. This study is available on an MS Access 2003 database with some 1,900 DONALDSONS and some 96 researchers scattered in Australia, New Zealand, USA, Canada, UK and South Africa.

I am NOT related to Mary Donaldson from Tasmania, Australia who, in 2004, married into the Danish Royal family.
