* Doug Dorey of Dallas, Texas*

Updated January 25, 2009

I am currently researching my paternal ancestors, the Dorey and Keene families of London, England. My grandparents immigrated to the U.S. in the 1920's and my father, born here, is an only child. Therefore all of my research on this side of my family lies in the British Isles. So far, I have been able to trace the lineage back as far as public records allow (1837) and need help going back further. I would greatly appreciate any information and would glady share details of what I have learned.

I am fortunate in that my job allows me the luxury of traveling abroad quite often and have been able to visit the homes and churches related to my found ancestors in England. I have spent time in the former St. Catherine's House and the Family Records Centre in London researching births, marriages and deaths. It's quite a wonderful experience!

My maternal ancestors have been better researched and include the Heck, Matlack, Dutton and Bishop families of Pennsylvania. Ironically, most all lines can be traced back to their beginnings in England as well.
