Unfortunately, the creator of this page, my brother James Doran passed away on November 18th, 2008. Jim loved researching and corresponding with everyone and while I doubt I'll pick up where he left off, it sure is fun reading the information on his site and learning about my ancestors. I'll keep his email address open for now if you'd like to send comments. Keep him in your prayers. Mike Doran

The reason for this web site is to assist the Author and others in researching the history and genealogy of the Doran and other family names, including Kehoe (Keogh or Keough), Feeney, Walsh, Hayes, Boyle, Conaghan (Conahan or Connahan), Rodgers, O'Donnell, Shaughnessy, Rourke, Missos, Veneros, Whitman, Kentfield, McKarcher, McCrory, Liegeois, Peanosky, Gallagher, Harney, Winchester, Gillespie, Jenkins and Petersen. Primary locations being researched include Marinette and Oconto, Wisconsin; Beaver Island, Mackinac Island, Escanaba, and Menominee, in Michigan; Borris (Coonogue) & St. Mullins (Marley) in Co. Carlow, Ireland; Arranmore Island in Co. Donegal, Ireland; New York, Massachusetts, North & South Carolina and the Kalamata & Messini area in southern Greece.

The Author's database includes family genealogies for cousins Mary Boyle Johnson, Chuck Boyle, Francis Boyle, Dom Conaghan, Gerry Komanecki Welch, Sue Doran Hebner, Mary Mikolasek Rinehart, Jim N. Doran, Cindy Jacklovitz, Charles Veneros, Suzanne Lang, Den Doran, Michael S. Doran, Dianne Staidl, Kathy Rueckert, Patrick Harney, Julia Clark, Helen Veneros, Mary Johns, Carol Sterbenz and Terri Patterson; for Helen Liegeois Doran's family; and for sister-in-law, Ann Umhoefer's family. Also included in the Author's database is a large family tree for the Author's sister-in-law, the late Elizabeth Jean Winchester Doran.

For use by other researchers, this site also includes genealogies for numerous families with ties to Beaver Island, Michigan, and Arranmore Island (Árainn Mhór), County Donegal, Ireland.

A special thanks to Anne Walsh, Jim Sunkes, Seamus Bonner & Aidan Gallagher for all of their help on this project. A big thank you also to fellow researchers John and Liz Schuck, Laura Elliot, Kathy Boyle, Mary Beth Greene Nelson, Jane Fruendt, Paul O'Connor, Jeffrey Long, Judy Boyle, Rich Gillespie, Ken Robbins, the late Pat Bruner, Bill Dillon, Eileen Fairweather, Joe O'Donnell, Patsy & Charlie O'Donnell, Dave Rodgers, Pat Sundstrom, Elizabeth Kennedy La Grua, Theresa Conti, John Connaghan, Arthur and Maryalice Authier, Cynthia Garland, Jean Danielson, Michele Howell-Dipert, Jim McCallum, John Jensen, Theresa Gibson, Bob & Linda Merline, Susan Neumann, Patricia Hilaire, Theresa Edwards, John Van Haden, Ann Harney, Bert Sitton, Cal Ingram, Mary Moore and many others for making this historical record possible. Most of all I would like to thank my Mom, who has contributed immensely to the study of our own family history. This website is dedicated to my Dad who passed away in September 1990, and Mother who died in August 2004.
