He married ELLEN O'DONNELL, daughter of DANIEL O'DONNELL. She was born Abt. 1830 in Ireland, and died March 13, 1900 in Escanaba, Delta Co., Michigan.

Author's Notes: Hugh's civil death record shows a death date of February 20, 1882; Irene Reidsma's cemetery recording shows a date of Feb. 20, 1881. The Beaver Island, Michigan, "Holy Cross Parish Register of Deaths," Page 5, shows the following.

"Hugh Boyle a native of Arrenmore Island County of Donegal Ireland, departed this life March 7th 1882 aged 52 years. Was buried according to the rites of the Church. Peter Gallagher"

"The Iron Post," Escanaba, Michigan, Saturday, March 17, 1900

"Mrs. Ellen Boyle of 305 South Jennie street died suddenly Tuesday, March 13 from an attack of rheumatism of the heart, and was buried Thursday , the funeral being held from St. Joseph's church. The deceased was born in Ireland and at the time of her death was in her seventy-first year. She was the mother of ten children, six of whom are still living. They are Mrs. Connolly, Mrs. Grisdale, and Mr. Mannie [Boyle] of Minneapolis, Dennis, Francis and Miss Annie Boyle of this city."
