Generation No. 1

1. JAMES¹ FOX was born 1806 in Ories, County Westmeath, Ireland, and died May 28, 1883. He married ALICE MULHALL 1830, daughter of PATRICK MULHALL.

Notes for JAMES FOX:
On Monday, May 13, 1996 after visiting William and Lilly Havens in the old Fox homestead in Ories, County Westmeath, I headed for the research center. In Westmeath it is the Dun na Si Heritage Centre in Moate. The center was not able to help, but directed me to the church. Here at St Patricks, in the parish of Kilcleagh, Moate, County Westmeath I found baptismal and marriage records for the Fox family.
James Fox and Alice Mulhal had 10 daughters, two probably came to America according to Ann Anderson of Creevagh, grand daughter of Catherine Fox Flannery. The two are Alice Fox, the twin of Anne Fox Walsh, and Sarah Fox who is sometimes refered to as Sally. It is unclear where these two females went to in America, but the search continues. It was Ann Anderson or a Mary Flannery Solomson who thinks one of the women went to Milwaukee.
Also, while at the church on this day, I did find three new marriage dates.
These are of Eleanor Fox and James Darcy, Catherine Fox and Michael Flannery and Anne Fox and Thomas Walsh.
