The Sept Wm. Doran originated in the 1830's and 1840's in Boston and Brookline, Mass. The first member of the Sept (and the man for whom the Sept is named) was William Doran, born on the 1st of November, 1811, in the Isle of Man. He married Eleanor Connor in Dublin, Ireland, around the 1830's or so. They moved to America, and the Sept was born.
