The McDonald-Dorsey Family Home Page

I am researching both my mother's family, the McDonald's, whose home land is in Rocky Branch, Texas, although some of my ancestors came from what is now Alabama; and my father's family, the Dorsey's, whose home land is located in Falls County, Texas.I know that some of my ancestors were slaves, and some were sharecroppers. I have even found one ancestor's surname (Jane Harrison)listed in the names of the Black Choctaws from Oklahoma which is consistent with where we know her to have originated, however to my knowledge no birth records exist for this ancestor.
Because of family secrets, some members of this family are known only by their first names and surnames remain a mystery.
I have included six generations in the part of my family tree that I can document. I am eager to find out more about the previous generations and would happily share the information that I have gleaned during the year in which I have been working on this project.
