* Ashby - Barnhart Roots*

I am researching my paternal (ASHBY) and maternal (BARNHART) surnames. If you are researching one of these names or associated surnames and feel there is a possible link, I would very much appreciate hearing from you.
William ASHBY b. 1827 married Eliza FARLEY, b. 1831; both were born in Ohio. William was the son of Hankerson ASHBY and Peggy FRAMMEL. Their children were Calvin, Luther, Anna Margaret, Samuel, Martha, James, Elizabeth, Charles, and Walter. Walter married Florence Olive DEE in 1906 in Sioux City, IA. "Olive" was born in Guthrie Center, IA in 1891; she was the daughter of James DEE and Nancy Emeline MCGHEE. They homesteaded in northeastern Colorado before moving to Sterling. The children of Walter and Olive were James, Harold, Walter, Erma, Verle, Leone "Babe", and Elton. Associated surnames are: DEE, MCGHEE, FARLEY, MCKINNIS, BAIR/BARR, FRAMMEL, DUBOIS, and VAN METER. States include VA, KY, OH, IA, NE, CO.

JOHN BARNHART b. 1756 in PA married (1) Barbara FLURY in 1777 (2) Susannah BALSLEY in 1802, and (3) Elizabeth BALSLEY in 1808, Fayette Co., PA. Their son, Jacob Barnhart married Susanah LINBIGLER in 1831 and lived in Livingston Co., IL. Their son, Joseph Barnhart married Kissiah SMITH, lived, and died in Sumner, Chariton Co., Missouri. Their son, David L. Barnhart was my grandfather. Associated surnames are: SMITH (Zion), ZEIGLER, KUNS, HOOBLER, LINBIGLER, DUNKELBERGER, BALSLEY, BROWN, and FETTERHOFF. States include PA, IL, MO, CO.
