* Dougherty Genealogy Home Page*

Updated October 16, 2007

The Doughertys have had many famous ancestors. The VanTassell line goes back to Gov. William Bradford, King Charlemagne,many English and French Kings and Queens, Julius Caesar and back to all the well known bible characters. The VanTassell line also goes back to the early Dutch settlers in the lower Hudson valley. The first one married a Montauk Indian princess named Cateronas.
The Dougherty line goes back to the Pine Creek area near Jersey Shore, Pa through several Harrises, John English and Cladius Boatman.
The genealogy is a work in progress.
