2. JOSEPH² JENNINGS (BENJAMIN¹)^3,^4,^5,⁶ was born Bet. 1819 - 1826 in England, and died July 22, 1903 in Cleveland, Cuyahoga Co., Ohio. He married ELIZABETH WALL^7,^8,⁹, daughter of EDWARD WALL and FRANCES. She was born August 14, 1831 in Canada, and died December 29, 1910 in Cleveland, Cuyahoga Co., Ohio.

Joseph & Elizabeth as well as their oldest child Edward are listed in the 1851 Canadian census with the family of Benjamin and Mary Jennings of York County. The relationship between Benjamin and Joseph is not known.

Records show Joseph Jennings as an innkeeper in Pine Grove Mills, York, Ontario, in 1857.

Joseph & Elisabeth Jennings are listed in the 1861 census for Canada. At the time they are living in Vaughan Township, York County, Canada. He is an innkeeper. There are five children with them at this time, Edward, age 10, Fanny, age 7, Ada, age 5, Francis and Henry (no ages listed for the youngest children).

In the 1870 census for Ohio, Joseph is living in Norton Township, Summit County, Ohio. He is listed as a farm laborer. There are five children still at home (Edward is listed as a farm laborer with the Aaron Betz family while Fanny is listed with the family of Alfred Synder, possibly as a domestic.) The children now are listed as Ada, age 14, Harry, age 10, Mary, age 6, Kate, age 3, and Franklin, age 1.

Notes for FRANCIS JENNINGS:
Francis is listed as a child of Joseph Jennings in the Canadian census of 1861. He disappears from the family before the 1870 Ohio census. A brother Franklin is born in 1868 which would suggest that Francis may have died and his name was "recycled" with a slight variation.

The only record I have on Francis (Frank) is a baptismal record. He was baptized privately due to illness. The church register lists his parents as Joseph Jennings and Elisabeth Wells (sic). Joseph is listed as a Tavernkeeper and resident of Pine Grove.
