      Obituary                              Bessie M. Thomas

      Bessie M. Thomas, 90, of Waynesburg RD 4, died Thursday, March 8, 1979, in the Greene County Memorial Hospital following an illness of two years.
      She was born July 4, 1888, in Wind Ridge, a daughter of David and Margaret Crawford Courtwright.
      Mrs. Thomas was a member of the Wind Ridge Presbyterian Church and had lived most of her life in Greene County.
      She was twice married. Her first husband, Hiram Roupe, is deceased. Her second husband, George Thomas, is also deceased.
      Surviving are two sons, Edward Roupe of Chester, W. Va., and Paul R. Thomas of Waynesburg, RD 4; six daughters, Mrs. Clarence (Florence) Jenkins of Amity, Mrs. Miller (Ruth) Strawn of Washington, Wilda Leichliter of Waynesburg RD 4,Mrs. Glenn (Frieda) Tennant of Waynesburg, Mrs. Ralph (Erma) Phillips of Rochester and Mrs. Lloyd (Jean) Dalrymple of New Martinsville, W. Va.
      Also surviving are 41 grandchildren; 75 great-grandchildren and a brother, Robert Courtwright of California.
      Three sons, Clarence Roupe, and Glenn and Donald Thomas, and one brother and five sisters are deceased.

THOMAS -- Friends of Bessis M. Thomas of Waynesburg RD 4, who died Thursday, March 8, 1979, will be received at the Frank J. Behm Funeral Home, High Street, Waynesburg, from 4 to 9 p.m. on Saturday and from noon to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. on Sunday. Services will be held at the funeral home on Monday, March 12, at 1 p.m. with the Rev. William Foley officiating. Interment in Prosperity Cemetery.

San Hernonda Duena Park, Cal.--- Robert Louis Courtwright, 78, of San Hernonda Duena Park, Cal, died Saturday Nov. 3, at the LaPala California Community Hospital after a brief illness.
      Born Dec. 16, 1900, he was the son of the late David and Margaret Courtwright and husband of the late Rosa May Hall who died in 1946.
      He had been employed by the Vance Greenhouse in Washington, Pa. He is survived by one son, Jack Courtwright, where he made his home; four step grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
     
COURTWRIGHT -- Friends of Robert Louis Courtwright, 78, of 6501 San Hernonda Duena Park, Cal., who died Saturday Nov. 3, will be recieved at the Neal Cowieson Funeral Home, Allison Avenue, Washington, Pa., Thursday Nov. 8, 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday Nov. 9, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.. Services will be Saturday Nov. 10 1 p.m. at the funeral home with burial in Oakmont Cemetery, Waynesburg.

      Obituary                        Mrs. Rose Hall Courtwright

      Mrs. Rose Hall Courtwright, 62, of Waynesburg, died at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 14, in the Greene County Memorial Hospital, due to a cerebral hemorrhage. She had been in poor health for some time.
      Mrs. Courtwright was born November 23, 1884, in Aleppo Township, and was a daughter of George and Matilda Huffman Courtwright. She was a member of the Long Run Church of God and active in the work of the church. For several years she had lived in Waynesburg.
      Her first husband was Clyde B. Hall. Her second husband, Robert L. Courtwright, survives.
      Also surviving are six children, Arthur and Joseph, San Bernadino, Calif.; Mrs. J. C. Davis, Clarksburg, W. Va.; Earl Hall, Smithsburg, Md.; Doyle Hall, Huntington, W. Va.; and Robert Courtwright, Jr., Waynesburg, and five grandchildren.
      There are seven sisters and three brothers, Mrs. Harry Marling and Mrs. A. W. Kerns, of Cameron, W. Va.; Mrs. Addie Hall, Weston, W.Va.; Mrs. Jessie Ball, Waynesburg; Mrs. Maude Veres, San Bernadino, Calif.; Mrs. George Brown, Martins Ferry, O.; Miss Blanche Courtwright, Wind Ridge; Samuel Courtwright, Waynesburg; Lee Courtwright, Wind Ridge, and Earl Courtwright, Elm Grove, W. Va.

COURTWRIGHT -- Funeral services for Mrs. Rose Hall Courtwright, of Waynesburg, who died Saturday, Dec. 14, 1946, will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 17, in the Samuel P. Weaver Funeral Home, in charge of Rev. H. H. Stansbury. Burial in Oakmont Cemetery.

      Mrs. Cora Margaret Crouser, 62, Sycamore, RD 1, [West Union], died at 2 a.m. Monday, August 16, 1965, in the Greene County Memorial Hospital. She had been in failing health.
      She was born March 10, 1903, in Wind Ridge, a daughter of the late Dave and Anna Margaret Courtwright. Her husband, Russell H. Crouser, died January 1, 1963. Mrs. Crouser resided in West Union for 32 years.
      Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. John Plants and Mrs. Harold Plants, both of Washington, and Grace Crouser, at home; two sons, Donald, at home and James, of Eighty Four; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Shuman of Washington and Mrs. Bessie Thomas of West Waynesburg; one brother, Robert Courtwright of Washington, and 11 grandchildren.
      One son, one daughter, two sisters and one brother are deceased.
