      Mrs. Mary Fannie Cheek, 94, widow of Price A. Cheek, of Wind Ridge, died October 4, 1961, in the home of her daughter Mrs. William Ostrander, of Marianna.
      She was born June 26, 1867, in Wind Ridge, a daughter of William and Catherine Kerns Courtwright. Her husband died in 1933.
      She attended the Long Run Church of God.
      Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Ollie Clutter, of West Finley, RD 2, and Mrs. William Ostrander, of Marianna; three sons, Roy Cheek of Wind Ridge, Price Cheek of Graysville, and Lawrence Cheek of Washington, RD 5.
      One son, John; two daughters, Goldie and Lurlie are deceased.
      Burial was in Wind Ridge Cemetery, Wind Ridge, Pa.

      Ollie L. Clutter, 77, of West Finley RD 2, died at 9 a.m. Monday, September 25, 1967, in her home. Although she had been ill for some time her death was unexpected.
      She was born May 5, 1890, in Richhill Township, a daughter of Price and Mary Courtwright Cheek, and spent all her life in Richhill Township. She attended the
Crabapple Community Church.
      She was married in November, 1919, to Jesse E. Clutter, who died in 1951.
      Surviving are two sons, Herman Clutter, of West Finley RD 2, and Albert Clutter of Washington; two daughters, Mrs. Russell [Lenora] Miller, and Mrs. Carl [Lillie] Barney, both of West Finley RD 2; 19 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, one stepson, Paul Clutter, of Waynesburg; three brothers, Roy and Price Cheek, of Wind Ridge, and Lawrence of Washington, RD#, and one sister, Mrs. Mary Ostrander, of Marianna.
      A stepson, James Clutter; a stepdaughter, Nellie Shurden; two sisters and one brother are deceased.
      Funeral services were held Thursday with burial in Wind Ridge Cemetery.

      Nellie B. Cheek, 73, of Graysville RD 1, died Monday, November 12, 1979, at 7:45 p.m. in the Washington Hospital following an illness of about two weeks.
      She was born September 27, 1906, in Whetzel County, W. Va., a daughter of the late Ezekiel and Caroline Kinney Chedester.
      Her husband, Price A. Cheek, died November 5, 1977.
      She had been a life-long resident of Greene County and was a member of the Rogersville Christian Church.
      She is survived by seven daughters, Mrs. Robert [Marie] Briggs of Washington, RD 2, Mrs. Louise Tennant of Graysville, Mrs. Earl [Ruth] Tennant of Waynesburg RD 5, Mrs. Robert [June] Elliott of Waynesburg, Mrs. Harold [Millis] Bowers of Graysville, Mrs. Donald [Aldine] Whyte of West Finley, Mrs. James [Donna] Elliott of Graysville. Also surviving are four sons, Roy E. Cheek of Graysville, Wiley F. Cheek of Holbrook, Price A. Cheek Jr., of Mifflin, and Charles C. Cheek of Goshen, Indiana. Thirty-nine grand-children, 46 great-grandchildren, four great-great- grand- children, three foster children, Daniel Phillips, Connie Phillips and Barry Henry, two sisters, Anna Majors of Moundsville, W. Va., Jennie Virgin of Woodruff, W. Va., and a brother Harry Chedester of Lorraine, Ohio, also survive.
      A brother and five sisters are deceased.

      Mrs. Nancy Courtwright, 87, of 270 Green Hill Drive, died Nov. 25, 1965 in Washington Hospital.
      She was born Nov. 11, 1878, in Greene County, a daughter of Silas and Jemima Moninger Thompson.
      On April 3, 1899 she was married to John M. Courtwright, who died June 30, 1945.
      Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Ollie (Bertha) Rawson of Washington, RD 3, and Mrs. Ruth Chivers of Washington; three sons, Earl F., of Washington RD 6, Elzie F. and J. Hershel of Washington.

      Mrs. Courtwright was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and the Washington Senior Citizens.
      She had been a resident of Washington County for most of her life.
      On July 3, 1924, she married Earl Fred Courtwright, who died July 9, 1976.
      Surviving are one brother, Harland J. [Sparky] Phillips of Lakeland, Fla.; one sister, Mrs. Kenneth [Helen V.] Mallabone of Titusville, Fla., and two nieces and a nephew.

      WASHINGTON, PA - Elzie F. Courtwright, 77, of 730 Michigan Ave, Washington, Pa., died at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 29, 1979 at the Ardmore Rest Home in Washington.
      Born Nov. 18, 1902 at Ryerson Station near Wind Ridge, he was a son of the late John M. and Nancy Thompson Courtwright.
      On March 9, 1929, he married Ruth Cooper, who survives.
      For 45 years, he was an auto mechanic and was last employed with the George Stewart Company of Washington.
      He was a Protestant by faith and was a life member of the National Rifle Association. During World War II, he was employed by the defense plant at Old Trail Motors in Washington.
      In addition to his wife, he is survived by a sister, Ruth Chivers of Washington; and a brother, John H. Courtwright of Washington.
      He was preceded in death by a brother, Earl and a sister, Bertha Rawson.

COURTWRIGHT - Friends of Elzie F. Courtwright, 77, of Washington, Pa., who died Saturday, Dec. 29, 1979, will be received at Neal-Cowieson Funeral Homes. Ltd, 925 Allison Ave., Washington, Pa., Monday from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. Services will be held at the funeral home Wednesday, Jan. 2, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Robert E. Pebley, pastor of the First Christian Church officiating. Burial will be at Jacksonvill Cemetery, Wind Ridge.

      Ruth C. Courtwright, 85, of Waynesburg RD 2, formerly of Washington, died at 11:10 a.m. Friday, July 29, 1988, in the Curry Memorial Home, following a long illness.
      She was born December 1, 1902, in Aleppo Township, a daughter of Evan and Anna Finch Cooper.
      On March 9, 1929, she married Elzie Courtwright, who died in 1980.
      She was a graduate of the Washington Hospital School of Nursing. Prior to her marriage, she taught school for a brief time and worked as a registered nurse.
      She lived most of her live in Washington, where she was a member of the First Christian Church. She was an active member of the Washington Sportsmen's Club for many years.
      She is survived by a sister, Wilda C. Campbell of Waynesburg; a nephew, Charles Campbell of Waynesburg; four nieces, Beatrice C. Crump of Erlanger, Ky., Annamae K. Burnett of Houston, Texas, Claramae Sokolowski of Colerain, Ohio; and Sandra Kay Herriott of Bridgeport, Ohio; and several step-brothers and stepsisters.
      A sister, Ednamae Shrader, is deceased.

      John Herschel Courtwright, 65, of 106 Naser Avenue, Washington, died at 8:59 p.m. Tuesday, December 25, 1984, in the Washington Hospital emergency room.
      He was born June 5, 1919, in Morris Township, a son of John M. and Nancy Thompson Courtwright.
      He was a member of the Pigeon Creek United Presbyterian Church.
      Before his retirement, he was employed by Finley Refractories.
      Mr. Courtwright was a former employee of Hazel Plant No. 1 and a past member of the Washington Sportsmen's Club and the Anawanna Hunting and fishing Club.
      On July 30, 1955, he married Ruth Mitchell, who survives.
      Also surviving are one daughter, Deborah Kay courtwright, at home; a sister, Ruth Chivers of Washington; a nephew, Clyde P. Courtwright of Titusville; and a niece, Mrs. John [Joanne] Harris of Washington.
      A sister, Bertha Rawson, and two brothers, Earl Fred and Elzie Courtwright, are deceased.
