McKay - Roberts Family TreeUpdated May 22, 2010 | |
| DANIEL MCKAY settled in North Carolina in 1800 coming from Skye, Scotland. Bringing his wife and three year old son, Alexander McKay, they landed in Wilmington, N.C. and walked from there to the Ellerbe Springs area. Alexander McKay married Eliza Carpenter, daughter of Isaac and Martha Allen Carpenter. They raised eight children. Alexander was my great grandfather. This is my mother, Lillie McKay Roberts, side of the family. NOAH ROBERTS was the founder of my father, William Forrest Roberts, side of our family. He came from England with his three brothers, Stephen, John, and Bob. About the year 1820, they moved to Wetzel County, W.Va. from Morristown, Pa. I would love to share any information about these families. Also, if anyone has any information that I can use, please feel free to contact me. |
