Joseph Keyser (son of John Keyser and Elizabeth Hackenburg) was born May 24, 1835 in What is now Freeburg, Snyder County, Pennsylvania, and died May 24, 1911 in Chillisquaque Township, Northumberland County, Pennsylvania. He married Maria Garber on Abt. 1854 in Northumberland County, Pennsylvania, daughter of Augustus Garber.
Notes for Joseph Keyser: A short story from Floyd's Northumberland County Genealogy states that the following children of Joseph and Maria were deceased: Harry, Elixabeth, Carrie and Maria. It does not say weather they died at a young age, were stillborn or died of natural causes.
Joseph was a small boy of 4 when he was brought to Chillisquaque Township, to a farm he occupied until his death. He was one of the oldest residents in his district, where he was well known and liked. He was a lifelong Farmer and Trucker, and attended the Sunbury market as such. He also followed Boating upon the canal to some extent.
