* Some Descendants of William de Duglas*

Updated February 5, 2007

William de Duglas was the first Douglas for which written records are available. One of his descendants, John Douglas the first son of Sir Robert Douglas of Blackerstone, immigrated to Charles county Maryland in 1654 and became a wealthey planter, a Burgess and a noted military man before his death in 1678. Many lines sprang from Col Douglas, and his six children, including the one presented here.

This web page deals with one of those lines from Col Douglas which primairly settled in the Warren County Kentucky area in the early 1820's. Descendants in Illinois, Tennessee, North and South Carolina, Texas and other states are addressed also. Any Douglas who is a member of this line is welcome to submit information or photographs to this page. Please send submissions to the e-mail address listed below.
