Died at MT. Carmel Hospital, Columbus, Ohio. Death resulted from a broken hip. He was a graduate of the Cincinnati Law School. He is survived by two sons: Perry and Hazard Okey. He served as master commissioner of Franklin County Common Pleas Court for 40 years. Served on commission to revise statutory laws of Ohio and this became known as the revision of 1880: twice the Democratic nominee for State Supreme Court in 1890 and 1908; but not elected; from 1886 through 1888 was official reporter for the Ohio Supreme Court. Funeral on Monday, June 14 with burial at Greenlawn Cemetery, Columbus, Ohio.
