Newton is a descendant of George ( from England) and Christina (Crewey, from Holland) Walters. They have two daughters. Anita Jean and Carol Lee. Anita Jean (11-20-1938) graduated from Radford College, received her Masters Degree from Old Dominion University, and teaches in Charlotte, NC where she and her family live.
