My daughter, myself, and my mother are all adopted. After 34 years of research I have broken the barriers and discovered my biological mother and her biological heritage. The information contained in this genealogy represents a rare reconnection with our past. These are some of the names I am researching:

  • Genealogy for Jorene Minor/Schuckman (92 KB)
Jorene was born on 6/6/1938 in Cincinatti, Ohio, to Miriam Jeffries Minor, who had been a housekeeper/governess for Roy Carl Siefert. Adopted at the age of 3 days by Francis and Mary (Fiedeldey) Schuckman (who had been the attending nurse), Jorene was unaware of her adoption until she was 11 and a cousin "spilled the beans". When she gave birth to her own daughter, Cynthia Marie Martain, at the age of 14, she was forced to give her up to adoption at the age of 2 years to Jesse Lyndon and Aline Helen (Harrington) Drayer. After 22 years of separation, Cynthia and Jorene were reunited, and it became my quest to locate Jorene's biological heritage, for hers was mine. Cynthia Drayer (nee Martain)
