The DRASS FAMILY HOME PAGE

I am currently compiling a family history for my children and have genealogical information for materanal and paternal ancestors for my wife and myself. I originally planned to trace each family back to their ports of entry into the United States, but to my amazement I have been able to go beyond that original goal and and locate some of their roots in their respective European villages. I have discovered ancestors who lived through, fought in, and survived the War Between the States, The French Revolution, The American Revolution, Civil uprisings in Austria-Hungary, and the Thirty Years War. My children can count among their ancestors a sea captain from Holland who brought settlers to New Amsterdam in the mid 1600's;
an arms supplier to the colonial troops from Bucks County, Pennsylvania during the American Revolution; a soldier wounded at the Battle of Gettysburg; an officer from the Austro-Hungrian army who had to flee after engaging in a duel, a tightrope walker from the circus; and others who wanted political, religious and economic freedom.

My children's paternal ancestors include the following families:
