Drake Family Home Page

Attempting to trace the Drake family line in Illinios around 1850 or so. Grandfather Guy Clifford Drake (dob Oct 16, 1905) had a twin sister named Gladys. Their father was Walter Drake. To date, information on them is sketchy. When Guy and Sophia moved to Detroit, Michigan is unknown. When they divorced noone knows where Guy settled. Grandmother Sophia Alfreda Brock (dob March 10, 1912) daughter of Franz Josef Brock and Wilhelmine Luise Braun. According to family, Wilhelmine was actually a Von Braunsfeld and sold part of the family name so she and Franz could emigrate to the U.S. from Germany. They settled in Illinois in the early 1800's and have been particularly difficult to obtain information about.

Funny thing, I met an individual here that was an 8th cousin 3 times removed to my great grandmother on my first day. I will gladly share any info that I have.
