We are researching the Drake Family Tree. We currently have over 2000 individuals starting with John Drake born in Abt.1490 in England. Our line goes through Thomas Drake, youngest brother of the Admiral Sir Francis Drake. Our line goes on down to Francis Drake, who came to America with his wife and settled in the Colony of Virginia in 1733. Two generations stayed in Virginia until Enos Drake settled in Belmont County, Ohio in 1819 and later in Morgan County, Ohio in 1825. Most of line stayed in Ohio and the surrounding area. Through marriages, there are branches all over the United States. 95% of all our information is documented. We are always seeking additional information and happy to pass on any that we may have that will assist any search. Surnames include Hann, Amos, Best, Jackson, Corner, Niceswanger, Naylor, Newlon, Benjamin, Barkhurst, Holt, Hoopes, Sands, Sears, Ball
