Welcome Family!

The time is past due for me to update my webpage. Please check back for updated files, reports, photos, etc.

My genealogy research includes information and photographs dating back to the early 1500's. Please contact me with documentation of any information you think is false or incorrect on my website. If you have additional information please contact me and remember that I will only change the information already provided if you can provide substantial evidence that an error has been made. Much of the information provided came from direct family members; birth, wedding and/or death certificates. However, there are a few articles that came directly from the Libraries from Alabama and Georgia. In addition, the Dothan Eagle of Houston County Alabama has furnished me with a few articles of information.

Surnames included but not limited to the following: Dragovich, Bigbee, Bigbie, Bigby,Hobs,Hobbs, Henderson, Nolan, Noland, Silver, Reynolds, Kennedy, Bentis, and many others. Below is a few short notes on family backgrounds and you may view more by actually viewing the "ALL IN ONE FAMILY TREE."

Rose Dragovich (name shortened for USA) married?, Born?, Son named Mike that married a Mary in 1921 and One of their children was a George Dragovich born in Bellaire, Ohio married to an Amelia Louise Piper Wines (Langford) born 1926 and George and Amelia married in 1949. The Dragovich name was shortened during immigration and the true spelling of the name is unknown to our family members.

Ed Hobbs originally of Georgia? born around 1858? killed by a train in the winter of 1911 in Houston County, Dothan, Alabama. He had two known sons at the time of his death: a son named Willie Hobbs born in 1910 with a wife listed as Mary Lula and a two year old son named Frank Hobbs. It is uncertain if Frank Hobbs obtained the name before, during or after marriage as Mary and Ed were only married six months on the 1910 Federal census, and I learned about Frank "Hobbs" when viewing the will at the Houston County Courthouse. After Ed Hobbs was killed she later married a Frank H. Henderson.

Willie Hobbs grew up and passed away in Dothan, AL. He was married to a Sammie Mae (Nolan-Henderson)daughter of Sam Nolan and Cora Thurman)(adopted around age 12 by Henderson's). Willie Hobbs grew up with a step-father by the name of a Frank H. Henderson. Per Census information: Mary L. was married prior to Ed Hobbs once and brought step children within the marriage as there were other children with various last names on census records such as: Finley, Cunningham, Henderson, and Hancock. Also, Ed Hobbs was married prior to Mary L. and had another child James? about 26 when Willie was born.

Sam Nolan of Southern Georgia, married a Cora Irene Thurman. Sam became ill and after he passed away his children were adopted out and others placed in orphan homes. One of the children was a Sammie Mae Nolan. Sammie's brothers/sisters included but not limited to: Florence, Beulah, Callie Mae, Mamie, Homer, Kermit, Loft. *Per a census in Early County, Jakin, Georgia January-17-1920 - Sam Nolan was born in 1890 and per SS death index he passed away in 1921. Per the same census record: Cora Thurman-Nolan was born December-19-1895 and per SS death index she is buried in Oakview Cemetary in Mitchell County Georgia.
