She was born March 13, 1803 in Littleport, Isle of Ely ,Cambridgeshire, England5, and died March 30, 1873 in Minneapolis, Ottawa County, Kansas5.

Notes for Thomas M. Markley:
Thomas Markley thought to be the son of Abraham & Lydia Markley.

Per the Markley family history from a biographical history of Central Kansas, "Thomas Markley was one of a large family at the time when one of his brothers drank from a pool of impure water, which brought on an attack of cholera that spread throughout the family, carrying away all but four. Thomas Markley being among the surviving members came to America in 1853 and located in Niagara County, New York, and finally emigrated to Michigan where he died in 1857 (but see below). His wife, Elizabeth Betsy Watson was of Scottish descent and came to the United States in 1857, with nine of her twelve children. Two daughters had died in their native country, and son Israel Markley had come to America the previous year. She located in Lake County, Illinois, and came to Kansas in 1865 to take up land with her sons."

Thomas Markley is identified on the 1860 census in Liberty, Lake County Illinois, dated July, 1860, and presumably died sometime shortly after this date in Illinois. Members of the family living with Thomas and Elizabeth Watson Markley on the 1860 census are six of their children, including Benjamin, Watson, Michael, Elizabeth, and Dinah, together with the John and Susan Markley Lee family. Son Jacob Markley is married with family and is identified on the 1860 census as remaining in Springport, Jackson County, Michigan. Son Israel Markley had previously migrated to Kansas per his 1860 marriage in Lawrence, Kansas. Son Thomas Markley Jr. is married and remained in England, but emigrated to Ottawa County, Kansas in 1875. Daughters Sarah and Lydia Markley were married and remained in England and did not emigrate, although several of their children later emigrated.

On the 1860 census, Thomas Markely is identified as a farmer. According to a family descendant, Thomas Markely had once been a prizefighter in England.
