Mary Genevieve, or Mame, received her teacher's certificate in 1896 and taught school for many years. She was nearly thirty three when she married Albert Gallin in 1902, and was said to be a very outgoing, socializing person, in opposition to Albert's rather withdrawing style. For years she would be seen wheeling around the county in her little red carriage that Albert had given her, scaled down to fit her dimunitive size.It was said that she was the only woman in the county that owned her own horse and carriage. She died during the influenza outbreak in 1917.
