Michael Jackson enlisted in the English Army on April 4, 1749 and was discharged on December 14, 1759.During the French and Indian War he served as adjutant under General Lyman, and admired the man so much that he named his oldest son Lyman.He enlisted as a private in the Revolutionary War on May 10, 1775, with the Militia Connecticut Volunteers, 3rd Regiment, 7th Company, and was discharged on December 15, 1775.He then served with Captain Nathaniel Seeley's company in Colonel Samuel Herrick's Regiment until 1780.During the revolution he served at Lexington and Concord, and was wounded at Bunker Hill.His family information is shown on two DAR applications - #191109 submitted by Gertrude Metcalf, approved June 11, 1923,and # 8721 by Helen S. Jackson Dunn.
