Below
are some of the BMD’s, and miscellaneous Newspaper Items I have come across
while researching my family tree. Some
items were difficult to read, even with a magnifying glass, so I have added a
“( )” or “?” around the letter, word or date that I am unsure of and have added
what I think it looks like. If you see
in brackets (rest was cut off) that just means, that when I was copying the
page, I didn’t copy the whole thing, and cut off that particular item. You will have to check the microfilm, for the
remainder of the information. I have
highlighted the families (the ones that I know of), which are connected to ours
by using Bold
Type. Good luck in your search.

DEATHS…
DROUGHAN, Margaret Mary Elizabeth (nee Haley) - DEATH OF MRS. E. F. DROUGHAN - On Wednesday
last, Margaret Elizabeth Haley, beloved wife of E. F. Droughan, and only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Mat Haley, of Burlington, died at her home in Chicago, at the age of 31 years. She was only ill a few hours, and death was due to influenza. She was up around the house on Tuesday, and in the evening took suddenly worse, passing away the following evening at 7:15 o'clock. The deceased was born at Wyoming, Ont., and came to Burlington when quite young. The news of her sudden death came as a shock to her many friends here. Mr. and Mrs. Haley received a telegram on Wednesday afternoon informing them of the news of their daughter's illness, and they immediately left for Chicago, arriving there on Thursday afternoon. The remains were brought home for burial, and arrived here on Saturday morning. She is survived by her husband, one little son, her parents, and two brothers, Alfred and Fred of Burlington. The funeral took place from her parents' residence on Sunday, to Greenwood cemetery. The service was conducted by Rev. G. W. Barker, and the pallbearers were her two brothers, Alfred and Fred; Thos. Droughan, (Smith's Falls) and Jas. Baker. (21 Jan 1920)

unforgotable memory of Mrs. Edward Droughan, (nee Mary
Elizabeth
Haley) departed this life, Jan 4th, 1920.
Two years have
sped away dear,
Since we last
viewed your face;
The veil of
death eloped you,
And left a
vacant place.
We lost a
loving daughter,
A sister fond and
true,
A wife so full
of devotion,
A mother kind
and true.
- Parents,
brothers, husband and son".

DROUGHAN, Margaret Mary Elizabeth (nee Haley) - In loving
memory of Mary Elizabeth Haley.
Oh how often
our thoughts wander,
To a grave not
far away.
Where we laid
our darling Lizzie,
Just five
years ago to-day.
Since then
their has been another
Gone to join
her in her home,
And we never
shall forget them,
For we miss
them in our home.
- Mother,
Brothers and son".
