Below are some of the BMD’s, and miscellaneous Newspaper Items I have come across while researching my family tree.  Some items were difficult to read, even with a magnifying glass, so I have added a “( )” or “?” around the letter, word or date that I am unsure of and have added what I think it looks like.  If you see in brackets (rest was cut off) that just means, that when I was copying the page, I didn’t copy the whole thing, and cut off that particular item.  You will have to check the microfilm, for the remainder of the information.  I have highlighted the families (the ones that I know of), which are connected to ours by using Bold Type. DEATHS…

 

BLAIS, JOSEPH OSCAR     At his home in Grimsby, on Friday, July 6, 2001.  Oscar Blais in his 81st year.  Loving husband of Annette Blais (nee Chiasson).  Dear father of Richard and his wife Sylvie, Pat and his wife Doris, Paul and his wife Lisa, Donald and his wife Marg, Jacqueline and her husband Michael Wallis.  He will be sadly missed by his grandchildren Zachary, Korine, Danica, Garant, Rory, Kurt, Luke, Desiree, Jade, Roxanne, Jasmine, Noemie, Nathan, Chanelle and his sister Germaine Barnes.  Oscar is predeceased by his daughter Pauline and five sisters.  Friends are invited to call at the  STONEHOUSE WHITCOMB FUNERAL HOME, 11 Mountain Street, Grimsby on Monday, July 9th from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.  The Vigil for Oscar will be held on Monday evening at 8 p.m. in the Funeral Home.  The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, July 10th at 10:30 a.m. from St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, 135 Livingston Avenue, Grimsby.  Cremation to follow.  Memorial donations in memory of Oscar to the St. Vincent De Paul Society would be appreciated by the family. SEREGELYI, Alex Sandor - At the West Lincoln Memorial Hospital, Grimsby on Tuesday, February 4, 1997. 

Alex Seregelyi, in his 67th year.  Dear husband of Ilona Seregelyi.  Loving father of Alexander, Marg Blais and her husband Don and Sylvia Droughan and her husband Craig, all of Grimsby.  Alex will be sadly missed by his grandchildren, Luke and Desiree Blais and his four sisters in Hungary and their families.  Friends are invited to call at the STONEHOUSE-WHITCOMB FUNERAL HOME, 11 Mountain Street, Grimsby on Thursday evening, February 6, 1997 from 7-9 p.m.  The funeral Service will be conducted on Friday, February 7, 1997 at 10 a.m. from the Funeral Home Chapel.  Burial to follow in Queen's Lawn Cemetery, Grimsby.  Memorial donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
