| My ancestors, the Duartes, originally came from Jerez de la Frontera, Andalucia, Spain, in about the year 1576. The settled in Jerez, Zacatecas, along with others for Jerez de la Frontera, they give the the town in Mexico the same name, Jerez. for the next 350 years they lived in Jerez and married, raised families, died, and immigrated to other parts of Mexico and the United States of America. Some of the other family names in Jerez that come into my family by marriage were: Dela Vega, Garcia, Moreno, Sanchez, Vasquez, Tobar,Salas, Cuevas, Ortiz, Roman, Rosalas, and many others. I believe many of my relatives were related before they came to the new world. Although, I started my family genalogy study approximately 7 years ago, I am still researching for family members that formly came from Jerez, Zacatecas, Mexico, to this country. If anyone has information that would be of help to me, I would appreciate if the information would be forwarded to my attention. |
