| I am researching both sides of my family tree. To date I have concentrated mainly on my father's branches. We are descended from one of three brothers that came to Canada (Ontario) in the mid 1850s. Nathan, Jonathan and Samuel (my gggrandfather) were all born in Norfolk in England the children of William UTTLEY and Ann Girling. There were 9 other children. Ann died in the Heckingham Workhouse in 1888 in Norfolk. Too date we have not been able to trace either William's birth date or date of his death. This is my father's paternal branch. His maternal branch comes down from Ezra S. Havens married to Mary ?. They are first found in the 1880 Census for Carroll County Missouri. Their son Walter E. HAVENS was my ggrandfather. Walter's daughter Whilemina "Mina" May was married to Samuel Gladstone UTTLEY. All the information I have been able to find on my mother's side is very limited. Her father was Sidney Stanley Leighton born September 15 1893 in Southshields, Durham, England. Her mother was Yvonne Marie Alice Martin born August 11, 1901 in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. It is not know when Sidney came to Canada. These are my main lines and the other names I am researching are: CATTERMOLE in Suffolk, England---1800s GIRLING in Suffolk, England--1800s TAYLOR in Arbraoth, Scotland--1800s, Quebec and Ontario, Canada RICHARDS/RICKETTS/RICARDS in Arbroath, Scotland--1800s MONAHAN in Fermangh, Ireland---1800s, and Ontario, Canada ANDERSON in Scotland---1800s and Ontario, Canada NEAR/NEHR in Germany 1500s, USA--1600s -1800s and Ontario, Canada ERNSBARGER/ERNSBERGER in Missiori---1800s |
