I have two most puzzling mysteries in my Roane Co., TN ISHAM family where did Henry Isham come from? Unable so far to document his parents. Someone told the census enumerators in Roane Co., TN in 1850 and 1860 that he was born in Virginia. If so it would be unlikely that his parents could be as has been thought for years Isaac, Jr and Elizabeth Snow Isham of CT> NY. I encourage all of the Roane County, TN Isham researchers to look again at this family and let's see if we can find documentation for Henry's parents whoever they might have been.
My second ISHAM mystery is the parents of Elijah Isham of Roane Co., TN who was thought to have been Henry and Elizabeth Bell Isham's son but he was not mentioned in a case involving the heirs of Henry Isham. Henry Isham has been found in Roane records as early as 1812. Elijah should have been paying poll taxes in Roane Co., TN as early as 1818 and did not. So where in the world was Elijah Isham before 1830? Please contact me if you are interested in researching either of these Isham families and looking for the facts so we can get these families as correct as possible.
Other ancestors James and Isabella Callison appear to be originally from Northern Ireland they moved to Albemarle Co., VA by 1745 and then on to Augusta Co.,VA. before 1788. They connect to the Morris line on this page.
