1. HIRAM¹ MILLER was born March 04, 1798 in North Carolina, and died Bet. 1870 - 1880. He married SARAH MARGRETTE HARGIS March 31, 1821 in Person Co., NC, daughter of JONATHAN HARGIS and PRICILLA ASKEW. She was born April 01, 1799 in Person Co., North Carolina.

I am decended through two of Hiram & Sarah's children. One through Robert Miller Sr. who married Mary "Pode" Smith -- Robert Miller Jr. who married Liza Jane Phipps-- Ida May Miller who married Birtle Clark--Daisy Jane Clark who married Herschel Welch-- who begat me--Dale Welch.

The other way is through Hiram & Sarah's daughter Nancy Miller who married Julius Elmore--Margaret Elmore who married Joseph Wilson--Arteam Wilson
who married Spencer Phillips--Bertha Phillips who married Robert Welch--Herschel Welch who married Daisy Jane Clark-- who begat me Dale Welch (but only once :>))

I was fortunate to have the info from some old Bibles that my great aunt Ova Hall had inherited. She kept up with everything. In one old Bible that was about faded, it had Hiram and Sarah's birthdates. Hiram's was March 4, 1798 and Sarah's was 1798. Hiram's name was spelled "Harm." It was impossible to read the month and day of Sarah's date. The Bible once belonged to Robert Sr.

My great aunt is long dead. The Bibles went to my mother and then to my brother and then, to one of my neices (oldest child to oldest child thing).

Listed in Albertson Cemetery in Fentress Co is Sally Miller Stephens born 1747 no death date. Might be related to Hiram?

Robert Miller, son of Hiram and Sarah Miller, was born Nov. 12, 1830
died??? and is buried in the Campground Cemetery (Mt. Union Baptist Chruch)

He married Mary D. "Pode" Smith (Daughter of Alex & Elizabeth Lower Smith)b. Feb. 27, 1831 d. Apr. 7, 1914. She is buried in the Wilson Cemetery near the "Steel Bridge" in the Lovejoy Community of Overton Co. She is buried next to twin granddaughters, Nora & Dora Miller who were born dead. The reason, I'm told, that she was buried at the Wilson Cem. and her husband at Campground was purely weather related. The weather was too bad and the dirt road was murkey and muddy.

2. Thomas Alexander Miller b. Mar. 11 1857 d. Nov 11, 1934 (married Charlotta Ellen Wilson)

NOTE: Francis Marion "Tobe" Phipps who married #3 Martha Jane Miller was the uncle of Liza Jane Phipps--her father's brother. So that makes Liza Jane's sister Martha also her aunt. Whew!
