I am researching the DUFRESNE family from Meriden, Ct. about 1885-1890. Then from Putney, Vt. The father was REMI DUFRESNE from Brest, France and Canada. His son's were LEVI and XAVIER. I am looking for any information on this family line, but particularly on LEVI DUFRESNE who married MELVINA JEFFREY IN 1884.
In addition, I am trying to find futher information on the JEFFREY family which has been traced back to EUSEBE JEFFREY. According to Canadian records he was baptized in St. Mathias, Canada in 1810. The family name in Canada was SOUTIERE dit LAGIROFLEE. The name was changed to JEFFREY when the family came to the U.S. No information can be found going back from EUSEBE.

EUSEBE married CATHERINE BERARD in 1833. The BERARD family line has been extensively recorded back to the 1600's.
