John Munroe was born about 1760 on "Indian Island" off the New England Coast. He lived when he was young in Truro and then Athol, Massachusetts. When he was 16, he enlisted in the army and fought in the American Revolution. His service continued for more than 3 years, and at its completion he was honorably discharged from West Point. At that time, he re-enlisted, but this time with the Queens Rangers. At the completion of the war, he settled in New Brunswick, Canada. There he married Hannah Cross and had a large family.I have accumulated considerable information on John Munroe over the years.
