| My name is Ann Michelle Avaritt Dugger. I, along with several of my cousins and my father, am researching the descendents of Littleton Avaritt and his wife, Sarah/Sally Head. Littleton was born in 1797, I believe in Virginia. He died in 1877 in Christiana, Rutherford County, Tennessee at the McCord-Avaritt homeplace and is buried alongside his wife at the family cemetery there. There are some dead-ends that we have been chasing, such as the most perplexing question: who were Littleton's parents and siblings? Someone has come across some information that suggest that Littleton had a brother named Wakefield. As of yet, I personally do not know the source of this information. I would be thrilled to get any information regarding these matters. Below, you will find three files about the Avaritts. One is a complex family tree - avoid it if you have a slow computer. The one called "Report" is a simple list of names, birth dates (only of those no longer living) and death dates - use it just to see who is included in the family tree. The next last one is a detailed report spanning 11 generations from 1797 to present day - it is the good one. I just finished updating it, so all the corrections that several have sent me over the past year should have been properly made as of January 31, 2000. I have laboriously attempted to keep up with the sources of my information, so you will find a lengthy list of them at the end of the report. If you have any questions or note anything that needs correcting, please don't hesitate to let me know. It may take another year to get this updated again, but it'll eventually get done! Our last family reunion was held in Murfreesboro, TN on July 13th this summer. As of now, I do not know if another is planned for next year, or if it will be in 2 years. But I'll post that information on here just as soon as I can.
