Pennsylvania Yost (Jost) Family

Updated July 15, 2008

I am researching descendents of Yost(Jost) that immigrated to PA. from Germany. As the story goes, there were several brothers that came through the Port of Philadelphia in the early-mid 1700's. Many moved west, but my direct relatives stayed in western PA. (Primarily in Westmoreland, Armstrong, and Butler counties). Most were farmers, carpenters, & blacksmiths. I believe that Thomas Yost may have changed his name to Yost from Jost when he moved west approximately 1820. Prior to him nothing is certain.

This tree as posted was complied from family memories and some research in Armstrong County Courthouse in western PA. This is only a first attempt. Any corrections or additions would be appreciated.
