I am researching data on the Dukes family of Louisiana. Death records of Florence Sowell Dukes Johnson has confirmed her birthday and death dates. To this point, there has been no information found on Jonas Dukes of Natchitoches, Louisiana. The search continues as we find our ancectors. Data may be hard to find because there were those born during post slavery whose records actually dont exist unless there's a family bible passed down but none has been found to this point. During the days of slavery, many African American births were recorded in chattle record data. Knowing this, the search still continues.
