| This web page is posted in an effort to connect with the Dutch line of our American family. KNAAP, MOL, GEUSEBROEK, TILJET, SLORT, ROB, DUIJVES, KALFF Our maternal grandmother, Helena Knaap, was born on 25 December, 1907 in the Netherlands. Helena’s birth place is either Amsterdam or Medemblik, NH. She, along with her mother, Trijntje [Geusebroek] Knaap, immigrated into the United States on 23 January, 1913. Their ages, respectively, were 5 years and 25 years. Helena’s father, Pieter Jacob Knaap, emigrated from the Netherlands in the year 1911. Helena and her parents settled in Holland, Michigan, USA. The family never returned to Europe. We are certain that Helena’s grandfather, Jacobus Beschier Geusebroek, a baker, married Helena Tiljet in 1877. Together this couple had nine children. We know that four of these children immigrated into the United States in the early 1900’s. Three Geusebroek brothers; Jan, Jacobus, and Stephanus settled in Iowa and in South Dakota, USA. Trijntje [Geusebroek] Knapp settled in Michigan, USA. We suspect that Harminia, Dirk, Marie, Hiltje, and Jacoba are the names of their siblings who did not emigrate from the Netherlands. We are seeking our Dutch family. Scroll to the bottom of this page for genealogy reports. |
