DOLPH AND THERESA DUMOUCHELLE Dolph Dumouchelle married the former Theresa Marie Facette, who was born on February, 15, 1887, in Hull, Quebec. Her parents had moved to Minnesota with their family. Dolph and Theresa were married in Minnesota in 1904 and in 1909 they immigrated to Canada from Duluth, Minnesota. The Dumouchelles decided to try homesteading in Canada along with their parents and family. Dolph worked in the logging camps for many years in the winter and farmed in summer. They were living in the Burtonsville area where Dolph was better known as Dolph Mitchell. Theresa helped with the chores as well as looked after their four children; a daughter died at birth. Two sons were born to Dolph and Theresa in Duluth: Herbert on May, 6, 1906, and Clifford, born on October 22, 1907. Harry was born in Burtonsville on December 1, 1909 and a daughter Agnes arrived later. Dolph and Theresa lived in the Burtonsville area until 1918, when they moved to Mewassin. Herb married Margaret Gaebel of Carvel. They had four children - Morley and Rodney, who are now deceased and JoAnn and Helen, both married and living in the States, as well as their mother, Margaret. Harry married the former Josine Vanderwell. They had four children, all married and living in this area of the country. Theresa passed away on February 6, 1937, and was laid to rest in the Catholic Church (cemetery in Carvel. Dumouchelle's second son, Clifford, was killed while working on a highway project in British Columbia in 1934. Dolph Dumouchelle passed away in October 1949, and was buried in the Keephills Cemetery. The youngest son, Harry, passed away on September 28, 1961, and Herbert, the eldest, passed away on May 11, 1962. There is one remaining offspring of the Dumouchelle family: Agnes, who is married to Dick Vanderwell, the son of a pioneer family of the old Woodland District. Agnes and Dick have four children all residing in Alberta.
