"MOTHER" Michael Lacey O'Cahill 1785-1845 a member of the 19th Dragoons, was the son of Michael O'Cahill & Susanna Lacey of Dublin, Ireland. He came down to Leighlinbridge in Carlow County to see land he had inherited there. There he met Anne Shirley daughter og Thomas Shirley and Margaret Butler, Margaret was the daughter of the Duke of Ormond. They married and lived in Prospect House until they sailed to Canada. They settled in Drummond Township near Perth Ontario 1817. They had 3 boys & 1 girl over 12, 1 boy & 1 girl under 12. Michael's sister married John Shirley, brother of Anne. The Shirley's near Shirley's Bay near Ottawa, Ontario are decendants. They remained in Perth, Ontario only a few years when grasshoppers wiped them out. They moved to Calumet Island, Quebec where he settled & lived. Most of the family is buried there. My grandmother Charlotte Cahill married Rene Bastien, decendant of Pierre Lemieux & Marie Marguerite Benard of Normandie, 1647, & Pierre Roguan & Marie Baudor, 1700, Provience d'Aunis, France.
"FATHER" My grandfather Samuel Hyslop McCron was the son of Theodore Armand Morden & Maggie McCron. He was born out of wedlock and raised by his grandparents, Matthew McCron and Marion Hyslop. Mattthew and Marion came to Canada in 1882 aborad the S. S. Champlain. They settled in Muskoka, Ontario, later moving to Toronto, Ontario around 1900. My grandmother was Florence Mae Ingram, daughter of Albert Ingram & Ruth McKenna. Samuel and Florence married in Toronto on September 09-1909. The name McCron was Crone with the Mc added after their arrival in Canada.
