We are researching the descendant family of William Dunn who immigrated to the US in the early 1800's as a young man, via Wilimington, North Carolina. He married a Cherokee woman in northern Georgia or Western North Carolina, and died and was buried in Tunnel Hill, Georgia, just off I-77, south of Chatanooga. From there, two of his boys, Atlas and Andrew moved west, ending up in Arkansas, Oklahoma, then Texas. IF there were girls, we don't know about them. However, a cemetary marker in Tunnel Hill indicates a woman with the maiden name Dunn that was buried there came from Lincoln County, North Carolina, which could have been the route taken from Wilminton. |
