Welcome, and thanks for visiting Jake's house. I have just begun to search for my Family History. "Family Folklore" tells me that I am of Cherokee Indian Heritage. I have a keen interest in tracing that side of my family, even though it may turnout to be a lifetime endeaver. However, my foremost interest is to research the ancestry of my Paternal Grandfather. His name was also Jacob Dunaway, although "Sitting Room Talks" speak of a name change. I never met Grandpa, and never had an opportunity to learn about his life. My search has brought the names of Dunaway, Stull, Gatz, (Gates, Gantz) into the foreground. Jacob was born Oct.2nd, 1861, in Lewis County, Kentucky. He married Martha Johnson,in Lewis Co.Kentucky,on Feb.27,1889. After the death of Martha,he married Esema Elizabeth Botkins . His mother may have been Louisa Stull Dunaway, daughter of Andrew Stull. Records indicate Andrew was born in New Jersey. I am presently searching records from these areas: Arkansas, Kentucky, Ohio, New Jersey. Any/all leads will be appreciated. I am also researching the ancestry of My Mother, Hazel Scamyhorn Dunaway. She was born June 29,1900, the daughter of Alfred Mc/Clellan Scamyhorn. Her Mother was Edna Grace Mc/Afee. Known surnames for this search are Scamyhorn , Mc/Afee, Norris. Any information on this search would also be appreciated. Please contact me if you have information to offer, or wish to inquire about what ever I might have that would be of interest to you. I am anxious to offer help whenever possible. Thank you for caring, and sharing. Jake
