John Ander Dunn was born in Dublin, Ireland and came to the United States as stowaway on a boat bound for America. This was during some difficult times in Ireland. He came to the East Coast and made his way across the country to New Orleans by working on the railroad, there he served as a worker in a Funeral Home for two years. Later he came to Mobile, around 1870, where he met his wife Harriet Douglas who had come to Mobile with her family driving turkeys to be sold there. Harriets father Drew Douglas was a Methodist Protestant Lay Preacher. John Ander Dunn became an American Citizen December 12, 1898 in Wayne County, Ms.

This day came as to be considered the application of John A Dunn for citizenship in the United States and the appearing to the satisfaction of the Court that said John A Dunn-----------------renounce all allegiance to a foreign power -------------------for sovereignty and particularly to the Queen of England and Ireland from whence he comes to wit. Queen Victoria and all other Potentates------ of the kingdom of Great Britian and Ireland and it appearing that he has been a citizen of these United States for the past five years or more, and during that time he has behaved himself as a man of good moral character and that attached to the benefits of the Constitution of the United States and will dispose to the good order and ---------of the same. It is therefore ordered adjudged and decreed that the said John A Dunn be admitted to become a citizen of the United States of America & he is hereby and now admitted to the rights and Privileges of Citizenship. She married JAMES NATHANIEL DUNNAM March 02, 1899 in Greene County Ms, son of EBENEZER DUNNAM and JANE HENDERSON. He was born September 07, 1855 in Indian Hill community, Ms, and died August 25, 1928 in Indian Hill Ms. Both are buried in Mutual Rights Cemetery, Gereene County, MS.

Notes for JAMES NATHANIEL DUNNAM: Jim Dunnam was born in Greene County, Ms., and lived there all his life. He grew up on a farm, where his father was a farmer and Methodist Protestant Lay Pastor. He was a active member of the Mutual Rights Methodist Church, Avera, MS. He was a farmer and business man operating a Gris Mill and Saw Mill, locate on a creek in Indian Hill Community. He leased a section of land known as the Sixteenth Section which was set apart, and monies received used to support public schools. On this land he raised cotton. He was married twice and reared a large family by each of his wives. After his first wife Eary Ann Kittrell died he married Mary Elizabeth (Molly) Dunn. JAMES NATHANIEL DUNNAM was Buried at Mutual Rights Cemetery, Greene County, MS.

Notes for BETTY SUE HOLT: Betty Sue Holt was born in Eudora, Arkansas, but moved to Little Rock and graduated from Central High School, after which she went to Little Rock Junior College, where she graduated then transferred to Ouachita Baptist University, Arkadelphia, Arkansas, and graduated with a Cum Laude B. A. Degree in 1955. After college, Betty Sue worked on the staff at Second Baptist Church, Little Rock, Arkansas for 4 years before coming to Florida in 1959 to work as Secretary to the Pastor of the First Baptist Church, Pensacola, Florida. There she met and married Rev. James T. Dunnam who, at the time, was pastor of the Park Place Baptist Church, Pensacola, Florida. During James' pastorates in Fernandina Beach, Florida and Cocoa, Florida, Betty Sue substituted taught in public schools for 10 years during the years of having children. In 1978, when James and Betty Sue moved to Tampa, Florida where James became pastor of the Northgate Baptist Church, Betty Sue became Secretary to the Vice President of Cloride Corporation. After several years there, she became secretary to the President of The American Shipbuilding Company, Tampa, Florida. From that position she was promoted to be secretary for George M. Steinbrenner, Chairman of the Board of American Shipbuilding Company, and owner of the New York Yankees. One year after she and James moved back to Fernandina Beach, Florida, where James became pastor for a second time at the First Baptist Church, she became Administrative Assistant and Secretary to the General Manager and Human Resources Manager of Rayonier, Fernandina, Mill. Betty Sue retired September 1, 1997.
