James Webb Duncan (Jim) and Bevan Jane Attridge Duncan (Bevan), husband and wife, are researching our family tree.
Ancestral surnames include Duncan, Webb, Christie, Zwetsch (or Zwetsche), Fernsler, Stevenson, Gingrich, Attridge and Bevan (or Bevin). Most of our ancestors resided in Pennsylvania and New York.
James Lincoln Duncan (with the Duncan and Christie lineage) came from Dundee, Scotland about 1889 and settled in upstate New York.
We believe the Webb family includes George Washington Webb, father of Mildred Irene Webb in 1891 in Basom, NY and (according to lore) Major John Webb from the Revolutionary War.
Mary Ann Zwetsch was born in upstate NY, but mother was Sophia Neuman (Newman?) from Germany.
The Attridges came from County Cork, Ireland to upstate New York in the early 1900's.
The Fernsler's include Henry (Harry) O'Neill Fernsler who lived in Pottsville, PA circa civil war, and married Mary (or Meara or Mildred) Potts after the war.
