| My cousin and uncle made a trip to the Ukraine this past year and managed to find our long lost family! The family, Chabal, live in a village called Lovyanske in Mizhgirya in Zakarpatska. It is not too far from Uzhorrod. They will be returning there in a few months. Our search was long and painstaking. I could not find any information anywhere. The family had changed their name from Chabal to Habay in the U.S.. It wasn't until my family showed up at the courthouse in the village that they finally got a break! Fortunately for us, a woman working there knew English and knew "our people". My search still continues however. I still am searching for the Bobonich, Kuchvara (Kuchmara) & Petrosky families. This was my maternal side. They all settled in Pennsylvania. My paternal grandfather, Willard Grant m. Esther Brady. They lived in Meadville, PA. |
