The Dunn Family History Descendants of Benjamin Dunn
1. BENJAMIN DUNN was born between 1766 & 1784 in South Carolina and died in 1819 in Greenville County, South Carolina. He married AMY in 1799. And she was born between 1780 & 1790 and died between 1840 & 1850 in Bradley CO, Tennessee
The 1810 census shows Benjamin’s wife and four minor children living with him in Greenville County, South Carolina. The children, two boys and two girls, were under 10. They probably were the four eldest Dunn children, Savannah, Joseph, Nancy and John, James Madison & Samuel. Matilda and Ezekiel would have been born after 1810 and therefore were not listed.
John, Samuel, James and Ezekiel all migrated to what is now Polk County, Tennessee formed from parts of McMinn and Bradley counties in 1839.
The Last Will and Testament of Benjamin Dunn dated 1819 Greenville County, South Carolina (transcribed as written with all grammar and spelling errors]
In the name of God, amen, I Benjamin Dunn, calling in to that it is allotted for all men to die, and being low in body, but of sound mind and memory do make and ordain this my last will and testament here by revokeing all other wills heretofire made by me, I do bequeath my soul to God, who gave it, and my body to be decently burined by my executors, herein after to be named as to my worldly goods which it hath been pleased God to bless me with I give in the manner following.
Imprimes. It is my will and desire that all my just debts should first be paid out of my worldly goods. Item it is my will and desire that the whole of my property of every discreption except my negro man Cambo and my wagon shall remain in the possession of my beloved wife Amy Dunn, for the mutual benefits of my wife and children, during her widowhood or until my children shall become of age, and as they become of age, and as they become of age It is my desire that they shall have an equal share of my household and kitchen furniture together with all kind of stock, which may be on the plantation at the time of their coming of age, and when my youngest child Ezekiel Hill, Dunn, shall become of age it is my last will and desire that there shall be an equal division made of my land and all my remaining property between my wife and my eight children (viz) Susannah, Joseph, John, Maddison, Nancy, Samuel, Matildy and Ezekiel.
Item, It is my will and desire at my death that my negro man Cambo and my wagon shall be set up at public sale by my executors and sold on twelve months credit and the money arising from the sale to be put out on interest in good hands and so to continue until my son Ezekiel Hill Dunn shall come of age then to be equally divided between my wife and children except there shall be a necessity of useing a part of the interest in the education of the children, and at the death of my wife this my wish that her part of my estate shall be equally divided among my children, and if there shall at any time happen a chance of selling the land whereon my wife lives previous to the children coming of age where it can be sold to a advantage and another place purchased to suit the interest of the family better my executors at liberty to make such sale and purchase provided it shall benefit my family there by.
Lastly I nominate and appoint Thomas Dacus, Zachanas Smith and my son Joseph Dunn executors and my beloved wife Amy Dunn executrix to carry this my last will and testament into effect.

Amy appears in the 1830 census of McMinn CO, TN, and in the 1840 census of Bradley CO, TN. She apparently died before the 1850 census. The name appears as Amy DURM in

John Henry Rogers born March 4, 1867 in either Warren or Coffee County, Tenn. John Henry Rogers married Georgianna Vasco Dunn. She was born September 18, 1870 near Hillsboro, Tennessee, in Coffee County. John Henry Rogers and Georgianna Dunn were married in 1887 in Tennessee, Coffee County, probably at Hillsboro.
To this union were born five sons and one daughter. She was the Daughter of A.W.B Dunn.
