Duncan Family Northern Kentucky to Missouri to Montana
David Duncan Sr, of Scotland, b 1730-35; d Apr 1827; married Margaret Hamilton in 1763. David came to America arriving in the Boston-Kittery area a short time after his father, Thomas Duncan. David left Scotland and traveled to Northern Ireland, married and had a son named Ennis, b cira 1762. Ennis's mother died so David left Ennis with his deceased wife's parents. Arriving in the Boston-Kittery area he eventually settled in Mason County, Kentucky and married for the second time. He remaind a while in Hagerstown, Maryland and is thought to have been involved in the "Boston Tea Party",after which he moved to Kentucky in the 1790's settling near Marysville, Mason County, Kentucky. He engaged in Indian trade, and making excursions to Ohio and the Lakes. David was blessed with nine children and William, his eldest son, by hs second wife married Elizabeth Henderson, of Kentucky, and settled in Calloway County, Kentucky.Their childern were: Alfred R., Joshua married Mary A.E Shelly McAfee and had a son named William Singleton Duncan who married Helen Cave. William and Helen moved to Pony, Montana with their 8 sons, one was my grandfather. He was Montgomery Mitchell Duncan Montgomery married Hortense Miller Hauseman and they had two children, Philip Charlton Duncan and Hortense "Patti" Cave Duncan. Philip married Kathryn M. Hotrum and have 4 children: Roderick M, Kathryn Jane, Irene Cave, and David H Duncan.
