Alexander Waugh was born in 1789 and died in 1875. He married Polly Jennings, who was born in 1814 and died in 1888. They were both born in Bedford, Virginia, but came to Pike Co.,Missouri, in 1849, by covered wagon.

Polly Jennings heritaged dated back to England because her great-grandfather, whose name was Thomas Chappell, came to Jamestown, Virginia in 1635 on the ship "America".

Alexander's father was a Veteran fo the Revolutionary War. His parents owned slaves. When Alexander and Polly came to MO., they brought some slaves with them. The children of Alexander and Polly were:

Thomas Waugh- my grandfather
Sarah Waugh
William Alexander Waugh
Louise Waugh
Elizabeth Waugh

They all lived in Pike Co.,MO., and Alexander and Polly are buried in Mt. Pisgah Cemetery In Bowling Green.,MO.

One year and 3 months later, after his first wife died, he married a half sister of his first wife, whose name was Eliza Gillum. She was the widow of Monroe Pritchett and a daughter of James Gillum by his second second marriage.
