13. Ludvik Josef³ Kallus (Johan², Anton¹)⁴⁹ was born August 25, 1866 in House # 496, Frendstat pod Radhostem, Moravia, and died January 29, 1944. He married Anna Aloisia Pavlu November 26, 1889 in Live Oak Hill, Fayette County, Texas ⁵⁰, daughter of Jan Pavlu and Frantiska Vykukal. She was born July 18, 1866 in Moravia, and died January 18, 1950.

Notes for Ludvik Josef Kallus:
Census records from the 1900 census of Fayette County, Texas show his birth date as August, 1865.

Patrick Kallus (grandson) remembers Ludvik as a farmer, growing corn with peanuts growing in between. He remembers him as being less than six feet tall and wearing a big hat. In retirement they lived in West, Texas near the Westfest grounds. The old house has been torn down and has been replaced by several homes.

Ludvik purchased 163 acres of land from G.D. and Clara Hill on May 25, 1907 and the deed is recorded in book 183, page 572 in McLennan County, Texas. The release of lien was filed on September 21, 1912 and is recorded in book 250, page 98 in McLennan County, Texas.

He purchased 133 acres of land from A.J. and Ella Zinn on February 24, 1913 and recorded in book 137, page 315 and the deed is recorded in McLennan County, Texas. The release of lein was filed on December 31, 1919 in book 315, page 385 in McLennan County, Texas.

He also purchased 83.25 acres and 10 acres of land from E.C. Mitchell on October 25, 1919 and recorded in book 316, page 96 In McLennan County, Texas. He sold this land on December 31, 1927 to John Domesle and took a note for 3600.00 and the sale is recorded in book V393, page 147 in McLennan County, Texas. On January 18, 1928, Ludvik sold the note to Florian Smajstrla.

He then purchased lots 1-5 in block 6 of the TM West addition from Jan Stephan on September 24, 1923 and is recorded in book 352, page 1 in McLennan County, Texas.

It appears that Aloise sold some property, lots 11 & 12 in block 11 in West, Texas on December 14, 1944. We do not know when this was purchased.

In an interview with Patrick Kallus on March 16, 2001 he rembered Bertha as a very vocal female. She was an average size woman. He thought that Bertha as well as some of the other sisters might have lived with William.

In an interview with Patrick Kallus on March 16, 2001, he remembered William as the host of the family reunion functions that Pat attended as a kid. Pat stated that he and his family visited Granger about once a year. He remembered William as a short man who talked a lot. The house they visited was out in the country. Patrick did not remember him as being married, or at least a bachelor for a long time.
