| I am attempting to establish a pedigree chart showing my original Dupree ancestor who came from France. My research at this time is primarily focused on the Duprees who lived in Edgecomb County and Pitt County, NC, in the early to middle 1800's time period. My g-great grandfather, John H. Dupree, was from N. Carolina, and I believe he lived in one of these counties before moving to S. Carolina. He was born between 1854-1857, in N.C., and he died Sept. 3, 1916, in S.C. The Huguenot's immigration to America is also of interest to me, especially, locating the port where these Dupree's would have arrived. Huguenot history, in general, is intriguing to me, regardless of any family connection. Any information provided would be greatly appreciated, and I am glad to share any that I may have. |
